Our Products

Q: Where is your stuff made? In the USA?

A: Yes, OneHorseShy products are made in the USA. Our t-shirts are USA-made American Apparel brand. All button parts and magnet parts are made in the USA of US steel (the magnetic backing is imported, and it's the only imported component we use). The art paper we use is milled/cut in the USA. Every product is printed and assembled in the USA.

Q: How are your shirts printed?

A: We use Direct To Garment (DTG) digital printing, a process in which non-toxic, water-based, textile inks print directly onto the apparel. Digital printing is similar to screenprinting in both look and quality, but has several advantages:

-Digital printing uses water-based inks for a durable print with a soft feel. Traditional screenprinted shirts can feel stiff and plasticy, and can crack or peel with age/wear.
-Digital printing is the more environmentally friendly process and finished product. The screenprinting process uses PVC plastisol inks, petroleum-based solvents, heavy metals, and other toxic chemicals. And plastisol inks can continue to off-gas when exposed to heat (like the heat inside your clothes dryer).
-Digital printing is a one-off printing process. It doesn't require screens, involved setup, or minimums like screenprinting. This means we can offer you a potentially unlimited number of full color designs on a wide array of different shirt styles, colors, and sizes.

Q: What kind of shirts do you offer?

A: We only use premium quality 100% cotton American Apparel brand t-shirts. The specific American Apparel styles we offer are unisex 2001 and women's 2102. Kids and baby tees are coming soon!

Q: I don't know what size to order? How do your shirts fit?

A: We offer a unisex style and a women's style, both are a modern slim fit. Please consult the size chart provided on every shirt page. There, you'll find exact size measurements in inches, as well as details of that style's particular fit. As a general guideline, both styles run small when compared to standard t-shirts (like Hanes or Gildan), so it's best to rely on the specific measurements provided in our size chart, rather than just ordering your "regular" size.

How To Buy Stuff

Q: Do I have to pay sales tax on my order?

A: Only Georgia residents are charged sales tax, and that tax is calculated on your order total (including shipping). For buyers outside of the US, please be aware that your purchase may be subject to customs fees and/or taxes upon arrival.

Q: How much does shipping cost?

A: US shipping starts at $3.00. You can find all shipping costs and options here.

Q: I want it now! How fast can I get my stuff?

A: Please be sure to factor in processing time when estimating how long it will take to receive your package. Buttons, magnets, and art prints are ready to ship in 2-3 business days. For button and/or magnet orders in bulk quantities over 250 pieces, please allow up to 5 business days before your order is ready to ship. T-shirts are printed to order and are ready to ship in 3-5 business days. Transit time for US shipping will take an additional 3-5 business days to reach you. We don't offer an expedited shipping upgrade at this time.

Q: Where does your merchandise ship from?

A: T-shirts ship from Los Angeles, CA. Everything else ships from Savannah, GA. Merchandise will ship in two separate packages if you buy apparel & non-apparel together in the same order. (But don't worry, there are no additional shipping or handling charges for these multiple shipments.)

Q: Do you ship outside of the USA?

A: Yes, we ship worldwide! Shipping rates to Canada start at $9 USD, overseas rates start at $11 USD. All international shipping costs and information can be found here. Please be aware that your purchase may be subject to additional fees upon arrival. We have no control over any import duties, taxes, customs restrictions, or other regulations that apply to packages arriving in your country from the US.

Q: I've got a gift certificate and/or coupon. How do I use it?

A: There's a marked box for each code at the bottom of the shopping cart page. After you enter your code and press "go", please give the page a moment to refresh and the discount to be applied. There's also another opportunity later on at the payment stage of the checkout process to enter your coupon or gift certificate.

Your Order

Q: I never got a confirmation email. Did my order go through?

A: A confirmation email is sent within minutes after an order is placed. If you did not receive this confirmation, it is most likely due to an error in your email address (like a typo), an overeager email spam filter (be sure to add *@onehorseshy.com to your email whitelist), or a technical problem with the order process.

If you registered an account, you can log in here to check on your order information. If you checked out as a guest, if you are unable to log in, or if you see a problem with your information, then please contact us right away.  Be sure to provide the order date, and the full name and email address used in the order.

Q: How can I check the status of my order?

A: You can log in here anytime to view your order status.

Q: I made a mistake! Can I change or cancel my order?

A: T-shirts are made to order (printed just for you), and there's only a small window of time to make a size/color change before the production process begins. So if you need to modify your order, please contact us as soon as possible! Non-apparel merchandise orders have a little more flexibility, just as long as it hasn't shipped yet we can usually accomodate order changes. Please note that if an order change results in a cost differential, we'll most likely need to cancel your original order and start from scratch.

Q: I received an email saying my order's been "partially shipped", what does that mean?

A: Apparel and non-apparel ship separately. All t-shirts ship straight from our printer in Los Angeles, CA. Buttons, magnets, art prints, and everything else ship directly from us in Savannah, GA. So if you ordered both apparel & non-apparel items, you'll be receiving two packages. That "partially shipped" email will soon be followed by an additional "order shipped" email once the rest of your items have been sent.

Q: My tracking number doesn't work! Is my package lost?

A: It can take up to 48 hours for the tracking information to show up in the system. So if your tracking number doesn't work right away, don't panic! Check back in a day or so, and the information should be there. If it's been longer than 48 hours since you've received your "order shipped" email and your tracking number still isn't in the system, then please contact us.

Q: Where's my stuff?! I've been waiting forever and it hasn't come yet!

A: After your order has been shipped, you'll receive an email confirming the shipment. If you feel that your order has not been received in the proper timeframe or if the tracking information shows that your order was delivered but you didn't receive it, please contact us and we'll check on things for you. If your package has gone missing, we can arrange for a replacement or refund, your choice.

For customers outside of the US, please note that international delivery may take up to several weeks to arrive. Packages can be delayed because of customs fees/taxes due, so please be sure to check with your local authorities.

Returns

Q: What is your return policy?

A: Returns are no problem with our easy return policy: We want you to love your OneHorseShy purchase! So if you don't love it, please let us know within 30 days and we'll either replace the item or issue a full refund, your choice.

One caveat though, we reserve the right to refuse refunds on seasonal/event-specific merchandise if you haven't initiated the return process with us before that holiday/date. Our return policy is fair, so we ask that you be fair and not abuse it. Basically, all that means is a return request like "It's March 18th and I'm done wearing my St. Patrick's Day t-shirt, so I want my money back" is not cool. Please don't do that.

Q: It doesn't fit... it's damaged... it's not what I ordered... I just don't like it! How do I return/exchange something?

A: Contact us here to initiate the return process, please include your order number and some info on the item you'd like to return. Or, if you have a OneHorseShy account, please log in and click on the "completed orders" link. From there, you can initiate the return process by filling out a short form.

We'll get back to you asap with further instructions and a prepaid USPS shipping label (you just give the package to your regular mail carrier). Merchandise needs to be returned in new condition, no funky smells or mysterious stains please.

Wholesale & Bulk Orders

Q: I want to buy a lot of stuff! Do you have a wholesale price list? Do you do bulk discounts?

A: Buttons and magnets are ready to buy in bulk with quantity price discounts marked on their product pages, as low as $1 each for quantities of 500 or more. And for buttons & magnets with multiple color options, those bulk price discounts apply to any combination of colors. If you need more of an item than we have listed as in stock, just let us know and we can increase the available stock level for you. For bulk quantity orders of 250 or more, please allow up to 5 business days production time.

Our t-shirts are printed to order, so we don't carry stock like a normal store. Yes, we offer wholesale pricing but we don't have a set price list for t-shirts. It all depends on the quantity and/or the particular items you want, since any wholesale order is essentially a custom order for us.

The kinds of wholesale t-shirt discounts we can do are:
Large orders made up of large quantities of one design on one item type
For example: 50 shirts total, all Pop Art Vote design, all unisex style, color red, size large.

The kinds of wholesale t-shirt discounts we can't do are:
Large orders made up of small quantities of lots of different items or designs
For example: 50 shirts total, but 25 Pop Art Vote in mix of styles/colors/sizes, 10 Guess What Chicken Butt in mix of styles/colors/sizes, 15 Classic I'm With Stupid in mix of styles/colors/sizes.

Please contact us for a quote. Be as specific as possible: include quantity, shirt type, size, design name, and the date you'd need delivery.

Our Designs

Q: Who makes all your designs? Do you buy designs/ideas? Will you hire me?

A: I make every single design myself (more about OneHorseShy here). I don't buy ideas, existing designs, or hire designers. It's just not in the budget. But mostly, it's because designing is the best part of running a t-shirt business, so I don't want to outsource it. There's already tons of other t-shirt sites where you can submit your designs for money, or set up your own shirts for sale.

But if you've got an idea that you think would be a great fit for OneHorseShy and want to share it out of the goodness of your heart, then feel free!

Q: You say you "pander to everyone" but you totally don't, you big liar!

A: "We pander to everyone" is a relative statement, as it would be impossible to pander to literally every viewpoint, but we do try our best to cover the spectrum. All OneHorseShy designs are made by me and there's only so much time in the day! I choose what designs to make based on popular opinion and trends, to fill voids in our current lineup, and a whole host of other reasons. But mainly I choose to make designs that I think people will buy. OneHorseShy is a business, not a soapbox for my own political/social agendas. I want OneHorseShy merchandise to provide people with a fun & easy way to express themselves and their views to the world.

Besides, it's not like pandering is a good thing! The "We pander to everyone" tagline really is just meant to be sarcastic and self-mocking. So when I get yelled at for not pandering enough... well, that's kind of funny.

Q: I'm offended by one of your designs and I have all of this rage bottled up inside that I'd like to unleash on you. Where can I send my complaint?

A: I'm genuinely sorry I offended you, I try to keep things light-hearted and all in good fun. Honestly, I think our designs are pretty mild. But if you need to rant, then please have at it!

Q: Can I copy your images and use them for my own purpose?

A: As long as you credit & link back, I'm cool with you posting OneHorseShy images on your blog. But our stuff is not clipart. Don't just take our images to decorate your website, or to use as your forum avatar or any other online identity, or for any other purpose that is uncredited and not linked back to OneHorseShy.com.

You are certainly not allowed to use or modify OneHorseShy images for any commercial purpose. You're an adult, you know right from wrong. I've worked really hard on this stuff and stealing it is just plain mean.

Q: Do you have an affiliate program?

A: Not at this time, no.

Q: I'm old-timey, won't you please deliver to my postal letter box a paper catalog of goods? What is the location of this OneHorseShy Mercantile Shoppe in which you peddle your wares? I wish to pay you a visit and peruse said wares in person.

A: Sorry, we're online only! Print catalogs and brick & mortar storefronts are so last century.

Q: Send me a free shirt and I'll post about OneHorseShy on my blog/facebook/twitter. Several dozen people follow me. You heard me right, I said dozens of followers (and that's not even counting my mom)! You can't buy publicity like that.

A: No.

Q: Send me a free shirt and I'll wear it around. I have a natural, god-given talent for human billboard-ness. So of course, everyone will want to buy OneHorseShy stuff just because they see me wearing it.

A: No.

Q: Any other variation of: I want free stuff for no good reason. Gimme!

A: No.
